What Illumio actually does
Illumio Segmentation maps the live connections between your servers, cloud workloads, containers and endpoints, so you can see what talks to what. You write rules against labels such as application or environment instead of IP addresses, and you can preview what a rule would block before you turn it on. Illumio Insights watches for an attacker moving from one system to the next and lets your team isolate the affected system.
Best fit when
You run servers in an office, a data center or the cloud, and ransomware or compliance is a leadership-level concern. Illumio also has an offer aimed at small IT teams.
